Adauto Araujo was born in São Paulo, Brazil. He attended the University of São Paulo majoring in film and then he worked as a free-lance photographer and photo editor for Noticias Populares, the most popular newspaper in São Paulo at the time. His work was featured in several individual and group exhibitions at venues such as the Museu da Imagem e do Som and Galeria Fotoptica in Sao Paulo, Café Steep&Brew and Café Assisi in Madison, Wisconsin, where he lives now with his wife and two children. He may be seen very often wandering the streets of this town like a lunatic aiming his camera at the most unexpected subjects, but eventually he will get the odd good picture.

Urbania is my most recent project. Initially it was supposed to be called "Route 3" and it would follow the path of this bus route in Madison, Wisconsin, where I live, but it ended up spilling over other parts of town. So far I have concentrated on the East side of Madison, but now I am going to move West. Most of these pictures were displayed in my latest exhibit at Absolutely Art/ Cafe Zoma here in Madison.

On Nature came about when I changed to digital photography. The need to learn how to use my new camera took me to long walks through Olbrich Gardens, the huge conservatory a couple of blocks from where I live. As I practiced and learned I fell in love with the gorgeous designs of Nature, and got hooked into it almost immediately. This work is not available in the Internet. Please, contact me if you would like to purchase open or limited edition prints of this work. They are also available as Greeting Cards and Postcards.

This was my first photography assignment, the first time I traveled by myself, first time I flew, first time I left my country, first time I saw snow, first time I lived in a ship. This work was published by the magazine Caos in Brazil, as can be seen in the pictures below. The pictures in the Antarctica page were shown at Galeria Cinoptica in São Paulo, Brazil.

Due to the fact that recordings are not allowed in Uqbar except during funeral parades, Tlönic Music have remained completely unknown in our world. Here I am traying to bring to light some of that music. In this page you will find the cover of Klauss Kirk's rendition of Bertu Bahydat's music during his funeral ceremony. In the Tlönic Music page you will see Bertu's American albums; all of them bootlegs published by an obscure Madison publisher. From all the recordings listed in the book "10 Known Recordings of Bertu Bahydat", I could find only nine. If anybody out there knows where I can locate the other three, please let me know.

This project is the fruit of a series of workshops at Três Rios in São Paulo. It is supposed to be a reflection on the poetry of Oswald de Andrade, Brazilian modernist poet and playwright. The titles are straight from his
Cannibalistic Manifest.
Gare do Infinito should be the place where any journey can begin. For me this place is Santos, my real home. Some of this pictures were part of different group exhibits at the Museum of Image and Sound and Galeria Fotoptica in São Paulo, Brazil.
